Todos los 28 de mes, pero especialmente en el mes octubre, son motivo de celebración para los católicos: es el día de San Judas Tadeo, el ‘patrono de las causas difíciles’. En el caso de la Ciudad de México, la mayor concentración de feligreses es en la iglesia de San Hipólito, en el Centro Histórico.
El 28 de octubre es relevante porque es el día en que se recuerda el asesinato de San Judas Tadeo y San Simón (que también se venera en esta fecha).
Es probable que te hayas preguntado por qué los feligreses acuden a San Hipólito y no a una iglesia que lleve el nombre de San Judas Tadeo. La razón de esto es porque, aunque este recinto religioso no tiene el nombre del personaje, alberga la imagen más venerada de él, lo que lo convierte en su principal sitio de culto.
La escultura de San Judas Tadeo llegó al lugar en 1955 y fue colocada detrás del púlpito. Sin embargo, su popularidad y milagros fueron tales que en 1982 fue movida al altar principal.
Es aceptada ya como una tradición mexicana, ya que se rinde culto e incluso en algunos lugares es día festivo, esto representa mucho para los mexicanos, ya que la mayor parte de la población en católica y San Judas Tadeo es uno de los máximos exponentes del politeísmo.
Miles, si no es que millones de mexicanos se dan cita ese día para venerar a uno de los santos con mayor presencia en la cultura mexicana, debido a su sobrenombre “el santo de las causas difíciles”, cabe recalcar que es tan importante entre los mexicanos, por la cantidad de gente que vive en la clase media-baja y baja, ya que son los que más se encomiendan a él para ayudarlos en sus situaciones adversas, tanto sociales como económicas.
